Presidents Report 2024

The 2024 season was one to remember, giving us a dynamic mix of triumphs and challenges for the Engadine Eagles Football Club. Some of the significant events and milestones included the following:

• EEFC reached over 1,100 registered players for the first time in the club’s history.
• The “Weather Gods” wreaked havoc with the season and for a large part we spent most of the week checking the BOM forecasts to see if there was any chance of playing this week or not.
• The number of new club sponsors continued to grow, whilst retaining the commitment of our previous sponsors. The interest in local community football has started to pick back up again after the “Covid” years.
• EEFC continued to upgrade the facilities for our club members, which included purchasing training goals for shooting practise and renovations in the canteen to make it safer for all working in there.
• Our Nursery squad again proved to be highly popular within the local community, introducing young kids and infants to football early. This well-run program has now become a training ground for not only future footballers, but also future coaches and Game Leaders.
• Our Miniroo teams continue to attract large volumes of players. There is nothing better than watching these kids grow in confidence and develop their skill levels each week.
• The number of our junior players who want to become Miniroo Game Leaders continues to surge. They are trained and developed to provide guidance to the Miniroo players and hopefully turn into future referees.
• EEFC recorded strong on-field results. A massive congratulations needs to go to the teams who played in the final series this year.

At EEFC we aim to make Football enjoyable and inclusive, regardless of the players ability and we understand that all our members are looking for a variety of reasons to play, whether it be for fun, friendship, love of the sport, competition or somewhere to hide from the family on a Thursday Night and Sunday afternoon.

No matter what the reason, the EEFC committee is determined to help all members attain their football goals.

The EEFC committee is constantly working on ways to improve the facilities we provide to ensure every member’s experience through the season is an experience that brings joy and happiness and the individual feels like they are part of the EEFC family.

I would like to thank our hard-working committee for 2024, especially the ground staff who were out inspecting fields early on most weekends to determine if the fields were playable or not and our newly formed EEFC social committee who have added many new club activities to our calendar.

EEFC appreciates the hard work and support of all staff members at the SSFA, Shared Services and the EC.
